DELETE ALL THE OTHER TASKS YOU DON’T DO

STORY TITLE: Sky High
DATE: 01.05.20

Task B Draw a picture of your favourite bit in the book. Colour it in.

Task C

Miners
A person that works in a mine
he worked as a miner at Wearmouth Colliery for 27 years

Geophone
A geophone is a device that converts ground movement (velocity) into voltage
(This is from the book) We have heard Fritz on the Geophones we need to get out of here

Fritz
(of a machine) stop working properly
NA

Task F Copy out your favourite sentence from this book. Why do you like this sentence? Give detailed reason for this.
We had a lot of laughs. One time, a soldier brought in a German prisoner and some of the Pioneers did a haka. They rolled their eyes, stuck out their tongues ... the full works. We almost felt sorry for poor Fritz.
I like this scentence because it sounds like a true NZ scentence and their is some humor in it and humor always gets me. I like the sound of the haka with the eye rolling.

Task G Make up three questions you could ask someone about this book to test whether they have read it carefully.

  • What simile was used when saying something about putting a tarp on ___________
  • What were the last two scentences of the story
  • How many men got killed or injured
